Our Motivation

The world of work is changing, and we believe there is a fundamental mis-match between the way many people want and need to work and the rigid and inflexible way businesses have traditionally organised their shift based rotas.

Over the past few decades we have seen increasing numbers of people seeking out more flexible working arrangements to fit around their many other life pressures at a time when businesses are also struggling to fill many of their vacancies.

This apparent struggle to align the needs of the business with that of the employee directly effects:

The Solution

Some might say – hire more people – but can you truly resolve a recruitment problem with more recruitment – We’re not convinced.

Our Passion

We have a passion for developing technology to improve the competitiveness and productivity of small businesses.  This stems from our direct experience as the founders of Nifty Nosh.

Nifty Nosh was an award winning online takeaway food ordering service.  Established in 2007 the company was acquired by Just Eat PLC in 2015.

Our Experience

As Entrepreneurs and business owners we’ve lived the problem we’re trying to solve.

Nifty Nosh operated an in-house customer support centre which was principally resourced by a team of part-time and casual employees working shifts.  Many of our colleagues were in full-time education or had alternative full-time jobs.  Flexibility and adaptability was critical in attracting and retaining high quality people for these roles.

Through Gig Grafter we are using our personal experience as employers of a highly flexible workforce to create employee scheduling solutions that can benefit other businesses.

We have still some way to go to realise our core goal and we rely on our growing base of users to guide and direct us.
